Boca DOC Vigna Cristiana is characterized by its intense bright garnet red colour, maturing towards orange with age. Elegant and refined to the nose with notes of flowers and spices accompanied by wild berries, the taste is rich and complex in its austerity, made unique by the presence of noble tannins of the vines and grounds. This harmony creates a marked personality. Luigi Veronelli described it as: ‘a wine that’s serious, punchy with persistent verve; full-bodied with a strong character’. The Boca DOC Vigna Cristiana is among a group of wines, selected from three-hundred of the best cellars in Italy, present in the wine bank promoted and managed by Slow Food in Pollenzo. The greatest care is given to the management of the vineyard, from the tillage of the soil to the manual pruning of the vines. Bio-agricultural cultivation methods are preferred and the grapes are thinned-out right from the onset of ripening. Each vintage of Boca Vigna Cristiana differs from others as it expresses and transmits the climatic characteristics of the months when the vines were in flower and the grapes matured. Intense ruby red colour. The bouquet is elegant and persistent, with hints of pressed rose, grapefruit, red berries and spices. The taste is harmonic, with incisive but soft tannins that dominate the typical acidity, with a long tasting persistence
Foodpairing: Boca wine pairs perfectly with rich pasta and rice dishes, such as Valsesia Toma cheese risotto and braised or roasted meat and game dishes. It also pairs beautifully with Novara salamis (Duja and Fidighina) and cheeses from both our valley and the plains, like Valsesiane toma and classic gorgonzola.
