This particular wine derives from a native vine of ancient cultivation, the Pelaverga Piccolo di Verduno. Precious and rare wine, it belongs to the Small DOC of Italy. It is the only Verduno Pelaverga DOC – for historical reasons – to be cultivated and produced in the Municipality of La Morra, on the border with the original area of Verduno.
The refinement takes place in steel barrels for about 3 months and subsequent 4 months of refinement in the bottle.
The color of this excellent wine is more or less intense ruby red, with cherry reflections.
The nose is lively, intense and fragrant in which a spicy note – cinnamon and black pepper – stands out, accompanied by the fruity note of marasca cherry. Equally important to define its bouquet are the floral aroma – pink and violet – and a slight herbaceous vein.
The taste, on the other hand, is dry, fresh and persistent: the sensations discovered on the nose are recognized, in particular spices.
It goes very well with traditional sauces but also with cold cuts and aged cheeses.
