The Gentile Hazelnut is a variety particularly rich in lipids made up of 40% monounsaturated fatty acids such as oleic acid (the same fatty acid present in extra virgin olive oil). Regular consumption of nuts allows you to keep the “bad cholesterol” at low levels in the blood, raising the level of so-called “good cholesterol”, thus protecting our cell membranes. The hazelnut is, after the almond, the variety of dried fruit that contains the most important amount of vitamin E, a natural antioxidant that fights the action of free radicals slowing down the ageing of tissues.
Hazelnut “Tonda Gentile” IGP is a fine hazelnut, with a characteristic, intense and traditional aroma; rich and with a persistent flavour, it allows to work in ice-cream and pastry with great versatility, adapting well to refined combinations with spices and aromas.
