Salame Ticino refers to salame from Northern Italy. It is a typical cold cut from Italy, made by grinding together low-fat pork with lard and spices. It has been recognized by the Piedmont Region ministry as an official protected Italian traditional product. The area of production covers the entire northern Piedmont, especially the provinces around Lake Maggiore.
The salame Ticino is best consumed as an aperitivo or together with some bread and matured cheese.
