Often referred to as “the Barolo of Piedmontese white wines”, Gavi is a historic wine, which has made the tradition of the great whites from all over Italy. It is said that its cultivation with Cortese grapes dates back to the late 1700s.
Gavi DOCG is produced entirely with Cortese grapes grown only in 11 municipalities of Monferrato.
Gavi has a more or less pale straw color with greenish reflections, a delicate scent, with hints of fresh fruit and white flowers, with notes of citrus and bitter almonds, which is enriched with mineral aromas and complexity with aging; the flavor is dry, full, pleasantly fresh and harmonious, of great elegance and finesse.
It is perfect with all the products of the Piedmontese tradition but also goes well with fish. Savoring a glass of this great wine means immersing yourself in the true tradition of our region… a must-try!
