Colline Novaresi DOC Vespolina
Appellation Colline Novaresi DOC Vespolina
Alcohol volume 13%
Serving Temperature 18°-20°C
Vespolina is a black grape variety, typical of North Piedmont. Its name derives from the fact that it attracts wasps because of the sweetness of its grapes. The grape is most likely indigenous to this area of Piedmont and recent DNA profiling has identified it to be related to Nebbiolo. This expression of Vespolina comes from the Colline Novaresi DOC of Eastern Piedmont.
It is a bright red wine with violet reflections, it has an intense and fruity aroma with hints of spices. Harmonious, dry taste, with a tannic bite. A wine that makes excellent company at the table.
It can be enjoyed with cured meats, hearty tomato dishes and mature cheeses.
