One of Piedmont's most famous grape varieties, Barbera is one of the protagonists of our region's wine tradition, produced in just 54 municipalities in the Cuneo area.

The vine is rustic, artisanal and one of the most representative of Piedmontese wine history: the true symbol of our tradition.

It is said that the wine was called "Barbera" because of the well-known sour and astringent red cherry juice "vinum Berberis". Moreover, in the Middle Ages, the name Bàrberus had the meaning of "impetuous and aggressive", as Barberis was. Today it is the tannin that, untamed, overwhelmingly satisfies the taster's palate.

The Barbera Superiore produced by Lagobava is of incomparable value, with controlled fermentation without the addition of selected yeasts. It is aged for 36 months in French oak barriques. The colour is an intense ruby red, while the nose reveals ripe red fruits with balsamic notes. In the mouth it is soft and harmonious, structured and rich, persistent and with a well extracted tannic texture. Excellent balance, with balsamic and cocoa notes: every sip is elegant and never predictable.

It goes well with important first courses, delicate white and red meats and cheeses that are not too mature.

Wine (or bottles in general) are shipped using inflatable bags and are designed to protect them throughout the journey. We remind you that all packaging can be easily reused.
