A bit of history...

Micaela Lago and Gabriele Bava are the names behind the “Lagobava” winery, born in 2001 with the aim of pursuing one main objective: to produce great wines in the Monferrato lands. Sommelièr the first and oenologist the second, Micaela and Gabriele form a couple of connoisseurs, enthusiasts and experts in the sector, and have combined their skills and knowledge in the management of a small farmhouse spread over an area of ​​about four hectares.

We are exactly in Vignale Monferrato, a small Piedmontese village in the province of Alessandria: this is where the vineyards of the “Lagobava” winery meet, among whose rows only red berber varieties of Barbera, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir are. In 2011 a small vineyard of Malvasia di Casorzo was added, used to produce the homonymous dessert wine.

Taking advantage of excellent exposures and on soils highly suited to the cultivation of vines, plants are grown in full respect of the environment and ecosystem, following the rules of organic agriculture since 2013. Passing into the cellar, the same care and the same meticulous attention used between the vineyards are reported at each production step, so that the grapes are vinified with rigor and precision in order to enhance each intrinsic characteristic, and also the subsequent stages of aging.

It is in this way that wines like “L’Amo”, “L’Ago” and “Lagobava” are born, as well as “Solorosso” and Barbera, up to the Grappa, obtained from pomace of Barbera grapes and aged for four years. The labels produced by the Micaela and Gabriele winery truly respond to what is the main purpose with which the company was founded: to tell through the glass the essence of the Monferrato lands, expressing at the same time the highest possible quality .
